Overall planning, policy formulation, coordination and guidance in water resources sector.
To provide technical guidance, scrutiny, sanction and monitoring of irrigation, flood control and multipurpose projects (major/medium).
To provide general infrastructural, technical and research support for development.

Jal Shakti Kendra is a knowledge center located to provide water conservation techniques and guidance to the people. The Jal Shakti Kendra comes under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. It is located in the premises of District Panchayat Shajapur at district headquarters.
